Centro Latino Videos

During this Spring semester of 2010, I have been granted the incredible opportunity to intern at Centro Latino de Salud, Educación, y Cultura.  The Centro is located in Columbia, Missouri, and is a non-profit Latino outreach center that serves the growing Hispanic population of mid-Missouri.  Through their efforts, thousands of Latino families have received some type of aid, whether it is education, legal services, immigration services, or medical assistance.
Throughout my internship, I have worked closely with the Promotores de Salud program (Health Promoters).  This is a project funded by the Missouri Foundation for Health that has taken the health risks most dangerous and prevalent among Latinos and has created information sessions for each.  The topics range from HIV prevention to Diabetes and Obesity Prevention.  My task has been to create education materials to send to other Centros across Missouri and even across the country so that they may begin their own Promotores Program.  Here you will find the Promotores Videos I have created thus far.  The ones with the lesser picture and sound quality were created with Adobe Premiere Pro 4.0 and the ones that have higher quality picture and sound (coming soon) were created with iMovie for Macs.
